Enter the yellow circle at UPGRADES in the lobby. Regular upgrades are permanent, reach level 3/3 and must be purchased in order. Throwing Range, Pebble Skipping and Rescue Speed each cost 150 Coins for level 1. Toy Battery, Flare Radius and Rope Reach require their matching tools unlocked first. Each upgrade also has a separate 150 Robux Max pass that permanently grants its corresponding level 3/3.
Buy Permanent Upgrades in the Lobby
- Find the yellow UPGRADES stall beside the purple EQUIPMENT stall in the lobby.
- Step into its yellow circle to open the upgrade menu.
- Compare the upgrade’s NOW value, NEXT LEVEL preview and displayed Coin cost.
- Select UPGRADE for the improvement you want when you have enough Coins and meet its tool requirement.
Purchased levels stay permanently. Each upgrade reaches level 3/3, and regular levels must be bought in order.
For more Coins, see run rewards or the Coin shop packages.
Level 0 Values and Level 1 Previews
At LV 0/3, NOW is the base value and NEXT LEVEL previews level 1. The prices below apply specifically to the 0→1 upgrade.
Throwing Range’s NORMAL label means the base throwing distance. Its +10% preview is a relative distance increase; the other upgrades use splash counts, seconds or studs.
Unlock the Required Tool First
Three regular upgrades require a tool unlock before you can purchase their levels:
| Upgrade | Required tool |
|---|---|
| Toy Battery | Wind-up Toy |
| Flare Radius | Flare |
| Rope Reach | Rescue Rope |
Use EQUIPMENT for tool unlocks. Flare costs 450 Coins, and Rescue Rope has a 250 Coins Equipment unlock. These are tool unlock costs, separate from upgrade spending.
See the Flare unlock and use guide, Rescue Rope unlock options or Equipment and tool controls for the corresponding tool.
Choose an Upgrade for the Action You Use
- Choose Throwing Range when you need farther throws. It improves both Pebbles and Bottles, making it useful when your intended splash location is farther away. See pebble controls or how Bottles lure targets for their different uses.
- Choose Pebble Skipping when you want more splashes from each pebble. Its first level adds one splash per pebble. Favor it over Throwing Range when splash count matters more to you than distance.
- Choose Rescue Speed when you often pull teammates out. Its first level cuts pull time by 0.2 seconds. This targets rescue duration; Rope Reach targets how far you can throw the rope. See the teammate rescue controls for the actual rescue action.
- Choose Toy Battery after unlocking Wind-up Toy if you want it to run longer. Its first level adds 1 second of running time.
- Choose Flare Radius after unlocking Flare if you want a wider radius. The level 1 preview keeps the stun at 5 seconds, so this upgrade does not buy a longer stun at that level.
- Choose Rope Reach after unlocking Rescue Rope if distance is your problem. Its first level adds 2 studs of rope throw distance.
Spend on the action that most often limits your progress: throwing farther, producing more pebble splashes, reaching a teammate or completing a pull faster.
Regular Levels and Max Game Passes
Regular upgrades use Coins and advance one level at a time. A Max game pass uses Robux and permanently grants 3/3 for one named upgrade.
The six separate passes are Max Throwing Range, Max Pebble Skipping, Max Toy Battery, Max Flare Radius, Max Rope Reach and Max Rescue Speed. Each costs 150 Robux; that price buys the corresponding upgrade’s maximum level.
Choose regular levels if you want to improve gradually with Coins. Consider a Max pass if you want to spend Robux to reach 3/3 for a particular upgrade. Read the current next-level preview before each Coin purchase—the level 1 preview is not a formula for later levels or the total Coin cost to reach 3/3.
Use the game pass directory to compare Max passes with tool unlocks and extra equipment slots.
